The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Biology and Pharmaceutical Research and the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry makes up the ICCBS, one of the leading academic research institutions in the developing world. The ICCBS is unique in that it is a WHO Collaborating Center, a UNESCO Category 2 Center, and has won the Islamic Development Bank Prize twice for being the greatest institution for scientific research in the Islamic world. The H.E.J. Research Institute has set a number of milestones over the past four decades and continues to be at the top of its game. Raising the bar for academic training in domains of chemical and biochemical science that are commercially relevant as well as mobilizing resources for future expansion in new disciplines of relevant sciences have been prioritized. Young scholars are being trained at the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research in the burgeoning disciplines of molecular medicine and drug research. In order to better understand diseases, particularly those that are common in Pakistan, and to develop new, innovative methods for their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, PCMD conducts research.
